Hold-down bolts and brackets land where the drawings say, not where they end up. When the erection crew arrives, the frame goes together without a single argument with the floor.
Ground rules, literally
The corridor’s ground writes the base design. Estate blocks in Pakenham and Officer sit on reactive clay that wants a properly compacted rock bed. The old swamp country towards Koo Wee Rup is deep, dark and soft, and big floors there can need real excavation and fill before a slab is worth pouring; skipping that step is how the district’s wavy shed floors happened. Rural jobs bring real variables, longer runs from the road, soft ground on the old swamp country, sometimes a pump, and they are measured on site rather than guessed from an aerial photo.
Does a shed slab need council involvement?
The slab itself does not need our permit process, but the shed above it may need a building permit, and that is between you, the shed supplier and the relevant surveyor.
